The First "I Love You"

When you first said "I love you", i was scared.
I didn't know if you meant it, if you really cared.
I didnt say it back at first, i wanted to be sure.
That you really loved me, that you were my "cure"
You kept saying it, every chance you got, everyday.
I began to believe you, and that you might stay
It'd always be random, out of no where, a simple hey.
I'd send you a smiley face and always say yay.
I didn't want to get hurt, i wanted this to be real.
I didn't want to be the only one to feel.
Feel like i wanted you.
You would still say i love you, and i would still avoid it.
But after a while, I knew that you really meant it.
"Say it back, please?" you asked one day
"I love you too," i said.
It was nice to say.
You gave me a smiley face and said thanks so much.
